Wheaton College's Volunteering Primer

Christian service is a good thing, especially when it comes to young people. It creates character and teaches them not to be so self-centered. Menial tasks and working as a team build important qualities into a person that can't be gained any where else - except for the military. Jesus Christ served as our model of love, compassion, and service - and the Word says, “Whatever you did for one of the least of these, you did for me” Matthew 25:40.

But is this what is occurring at Wheaton College and many other Christian colleges across our country? Are they teaching them to bring Christ to the community, or are they preparing them to fight social justice issues for the U.N.? Is volunteering being molded into their minds for the new way of living in the U.S.?

As mentioned before, Christian missionaries and volunteering have been used by "governments as an extension of power and authority over indigenous cultures around the world."[1] Rockefeller and other elite families have financed many of the mission organizations in our country. Based upon the information provided by the students and leaders on the video, what do you see occurring?

Is it supposed to flip the "Justice Switch"? Are they bringing their only their good works, and forgetting the life-changing Gospel? What has the Lord Jesus Christ commissioned us to do?

"And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world." Matthew 28:18-20

Evangelicals Join 'Religious Left' to Defend Poor Against Budget Cuts

(Christian Post) In a move that may be surprising to some, evangelicals have formed a coalition with progressive Christians as well as Catholics to oppose federal budget cuts that would hurt the poor.

While a “moral budget” is the expected agenda of the “religious left,” the National Association of Evangelicals is lending their voice to calls for budgetary protection of domestic and international assistance programs that help the needy.

Alongside the Rev. Jim Wallis of Sojourners, David Beckmann of Bread for the World and the Rev. Peg Chemberlin of the National Council of Churches USA, NAE President Leith Anderson is among the signatories to the “Circle of Protection.”

The Circle of Protection’s mission is a continuation of the “What Would Jesus Cut?” campaign launched by social justice group Sojourners and Evangelicals for Social Action’s “Call for Intergenerational Justice.” All three proposals emphasize the biblical importance of helping the poor. They also all recommend that Congress explore other financial options rather make cuts to programs that offer health, educational and food aid to the poor.

Mark Tooley, president of the Institute on Religion and Democracy, denounced supporters of such proposals as liberals who would rather protect the growth of their favorite federal programs than tackle the national deficit. (Read more)

Brannon Howse discussion with Jan Markell, which is a temporary link. Begin listening at 1/3 into the program. To summarize what was said, Brannon explains that this is a social justice program, which is communist, and nothing less than socialism. The social programs have contributed to the bankruptcy of America. The poor of this country is not poor, when you compare them to the rest of the world.

Another Circle of Protection

Coincidentally, there is a Circle of Protection in the Wiccan Religion. It is an ancient magic circle, designed in the form of an amulet, for protection against harm. Cleansing ceremonies are performed within the circle as a protection from evil forces. I guess they wouldn't have to wear that thing if they didn't dabble in the occult.

Could it be that the founders of the Christian Circle of Protection knew what they were doing when they selected the name of their plan?

Feminist Warns Against Wrong Reading of Biblical Texts on Women

(Christian Post) “If the language of the Bible is not understood in today’s terms, some passages can be used to allow excluding women from church leadership,” said Patricia Sheerattan-Bisnauth.

Head of the World Communion of Reformed Churches’ program for Gender Justice and Partnership, Sheerattan-Bisnauth pointed to biblical passages, such as 1 Corinthians 14: 33-34 where it says to keep women silent in church, that “can harm women when they are used to justify enforced submission of women to male authority.”

In the wake of International Women’s Day on Tuesday, WCRC is supporting an appeal from a Christian communication organization for increased attention on the effects of words and images used in the media against women. (Read more)

Note: The World Communion of Reformed Churches is in an ecumenical alliance with the World Council of Churches. The program that Sheerattan-Bisnauth heads up works to accomplish the U.N. Millennial Goals, in that part of its focus is on HIV/Aids and social justice. They plainly dishonor God by changing the truth of God into a lie.

“But I suffer [allow] not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence." 1 Tim. 2:12
