Roman Catholic Year of Faith: What are the Implications?

  The practice of Eucharistic adoration is just one of many unbiblical

practices of the Roman Catholic church.

At the worldwide level, Pope Benedict will preside at the celebration for the Year of Faith. The Vatican plans special ecumenical efforts, pushing toward Christian unity, including “a solemn ecumenical celebration in which all of the baptized will reaffirm their faith in Christ.” It will begin on October 11, 2012, and continue through November 24, 2013.

The Vatican Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith statement notes that the initiative “is intended to contribute to a renewed conversion to the Lord Jesus and to the rediscovery of faith, so that the members of the Church will be credible and joy-filled witnesses to the Risen Lord, capable of leading those many people who are seeking it to the door of faith.”

The Year of Faith will mark the 50th anniversary of the opening of Vatican II. The number 50 is the number of jubilee or deliverance, and rest following on as the result of the perfect consummation of time.[1] It is actually the number 1 that represents unity.

I'm not certain if this news story is double-talk for their target date for the physical Church to become one or not. In a FoxNews article from 2007, Pope Benedict was quoted as saying:

"Christ 'established here on earth' only one Church." The other communities "cannot be called 'churches' in the proper sense" because they do not have apostolic succession -- the ability to trace their bishops back to Christ's original apostles -- and therefore their priestly ordinations are not valid, it said."

It is apparent that he wants all Christians be Catholic. Somehow the Pope will get what he wants.
